Dynamic Dining Cancelation

What’s Happening:

Royal Caribbean cancels plans for Dynamic Dining on Oasis Class ships.

But Why?

When the Dynamic Dining concept was originally announced, it was designed for the newest and most technologically advanced ships (the Quantum-class ships).

Though Royal Caribbean decided that the Dynamic Dining would be introduced to the Oasis Class ships, these plans later changed when Royal Caribbean reevaluated and decided that the rest of the fleet was not designed to support this new concept.

What Does This Mean For Us?

If you’ve already booked a cruise on Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, or Harmony of the Seas, you now have to select between the two seating times in the main dining room or the My Time Dining.

Harmony of the Seas guests who have already pre-selected Dynamic Dining Classic will be re-assigned to early or late seating to match their original time choice.

Other guests who chose the Dynamic Dining Choice option will now be re-assigned to the My Time Dining program.

These changes should be made by the end of July 2015.

Jewel of the Seas Revitalization

Jewel of the Seas is the last ship in Royal Caribbean’s fleet-wide upgrade. In April 2016, Jewel of the Seas will be receiving a number of onboard features and amenities similar to those on Oasis Class ships.

Like other Radiance Class ships, Jewel of the Seas will likely have the Seaview Café replaced by a new specialty restaurant during its revitalization.

Get Ready to Take the Plunge

Royal Caribbean International is taking an initiative to add new water slides to its ships.

It has recently been announced that Harmony of the Seas is getting a new 10 story water slide called The Abyss.

During its January 2016 revitalization, Liberty of the Seas will also be receiving the new 10 story water slide.

Similarly, Royal Caribbean has announced that passengers should be expecting a water slide aboard Majesty of the Seas.

Things You Need to Know about Norwegian Cruise Line

An Increase in Gratuities

Norwegian Cruise Line will be adjusting its daily service charges, effective for all cruises embarking on August 1, 2015. The new rates are:

  • $13.50 per person per day (any category up to mini-suite stateroom)
  • $15.50 per person per day (any suite category)

Any guest who has booked a cruise by July 31, 2015 will be able to prepay their service chargers at the current rate, as long as it’s done prior to the final payment due date.

If you’ve already made reservations and pre-paid your services chargers for the current gratuities rate, don’t worry, your rates will not be affected.

Norwegian’s A La Carte Specialty Dining

A La What?

Norwegian’s newest and largest ship, the Norwegian Escape, will be the first in the entire fleet to feature enhanced menus and new per-item pricing.

A La Carte Dining will give you both the freedom to try a wide array of gourmet dishes and the flexibility to choose the number of courses each meal.

This Freestyle Cruising will begin this October and will be offered for 11 complimentary dining options, including

  • La Cucina
  • Le Bistro
