You may have heard that Royal Caribbean as well as Norwegian Cruise Line has received approval to sail to Cuba.
There is no official announcement yet but I expect they will announce this officially today.
Yesterday, there were a lot of gossip that Royal has put cruise itineraries with Havana as port of call at midnight today.
We received a lot of calls from our clients with requests for those cruises.
I checked our Royal Caribbean booking engine at midnight – cruises were there!
So far, there only three departure dates available:
- April 19, 2017 from Miami, Florida, 5 night-cruise
- April 30, 2017 from Tampa, Florida, 7-night cruise
- May 20, 2017 from Tampa, Florida, 5-night cruise

About Empress of the Seas

Royal Caribbean brought Empress of the Seas back into the fleet in May 2016. Royal Caribbean gave her a bow-to-stern makeover that cost of millions of dollars.
Staterooms were refreshed, galley was completely turned down and replaced to meet Royal Caribbean’s standards, Boleros Latin Lounge was added.
Voom high speed internet is available on Empress of the Seas, allowing guests to stay connected with friends and family.
I was personally was on the Empress of the Seas in May 2016 and made some photos.
Visas to Cuba
Visa to Cuba for non-Cuba born guests are issued on board for $75.
Visa procedure for Cuba born US nationals is not clear at present time.
For now, Cuba-born guests on Fathom are required to obtain visa through Cuban embassy.
Prices
As for today, prices are reasonable.
You know, that prices on Royal Caribbean International are dynamic.
If demand is up, price is jump up also.
My recommendation: don’t wait!
There are only three sailings so far.
Prices below per person, based on double occupancy, before taxes.
