Inspired by my most recent voyage on Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas, I wanted to share some of my favorite attractions throughout the ship. As always, Royal pulls all of the stops and puts on a fantastic display of entertainment, venues and food in their latest masterpiece, Anthem of the Seas. Here are some of highlights!
The festivities start at embarkation! With the new terminal designed for the Quantum class, forget the crowd control lines and enter into a hall where agents come to you with their tablets to register you in.
First stop? The North Star of course! It takes you in a bubble 300 feet over the water and in our case wisped over the bay overlooking the beautiful New York skyline. For the romantics, here’s a tip: this capsule can be reserved for private occasions, such as proposals or anniversaries.
No Cruise ship is complete without a pool. Being this is Royal Caribbean after all, the ship boasts both indoor and outdoor pools. Wildly popular from the Oasis class, the Solarium is a covered pool area with trees, waterfalls and even a juice bar to feel good inside and out!
Ah, the SeaPlex! The most versatile playground at sea, is home to a basketball court, roller skating rink, flying trapeze school, and none other than a bumper car arena! That’s right bumper cars at sea.
No Royal ship is complete without the FlowRider. A favorite amongst returning guests, the FlowRider challenges beginners to professionals with their surfing skills.
In case you think cruises these days are all the same, how about flying at sea? There is the Ripcord by iFly, a skydiving simulator. With a short safety instructional, you will be a master skydiver in no time!
Working back into the ship is the ship’s Casino. Fully operational with every Vegas style game in this vast venue, you are sure to find yourself enjoying the scene.
Royal Caribbean did away with the Royal Promenade for this class ships, and replaced with a two story walkway, called the Royal Esplanade. The walkway features restaurants, bars and shops to explore.
