As a Florida resident, I am never short on the great adventures this state has to offer.
While we are all well versed in the theme parks, vibrant night life and beaches, there is much more on this Peninsula than just those things.
Last week I finally experienced the Everglades in none other than an Airboat!
A must for not just adventure seekers, but I think to anyone who appreciates learning more about our complex ecosystem. For so many tourists who come for our major attractions and cruise ports, the Everglades are a great alternative for an adventure.
The Everglades is a National Park more to a vast number of wildlife, many of which are endangered.
On my particular trip we had the option of either doing a mudding buggy or an airboat, and I of course opted for the latter.
What a thrill! We were up close with so much local wildlife, such as alligators, turtles, owls, and more bird species than I can name.
Florida panthers, manatees, herons and even deer live in this beautiful preserve. You can experience it all for yourself, just as I did! A few of my travel pictures below. Enjoy!
