Update About Harmony of the Seas

I reported last week that Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, known as Oasis class ships, has a new sister ship Harmony of the Seas.

Port Everglades Welcomes Harmony of the Seas

Just announced that Harmony of the Seas will call Port Everglades as a home port for 2016/2017 winter season.

As you know already, Harmony of the Seas will be the world’s next largest ship afloat in cruise industry when it enters service in 2016. She will carry 5,479 passengers. Her itineraries are announced also: Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises. She will replace Oasis of the Seas which in service from 2009 in Port Everglades.

Now, Port Everglades is a home port for Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. Both ships alternate seven-night Caribbean itineraries: Western and Eastern. Oasis of the Seas departs on Saturdays and Allure of the Seas on Sundays.

Port Everglades is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, just a few miles from Fort Lauderdale International airport. Its location is one of the best in cruise industry: it takes less than 30 minutes from ship to terminal.

Independence of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas and Serenade of the Seas will also sail from Port Everglades in 2016/2017 winter season.

Oasis of the Seas will Head North

What happens to Oasis of the Seas when Harmony of the Seas arrives to Port Everglades? Oasis of the Seas will be relocated to Port Canaveral.

Port Canaveral is located just east from Orlando. It takes longer to arrive to airport, so I don’t recommend my clients to book flight in the morning. Better to do that around 12:30 – 1 PM.

Port Canaveral is an ideal departure port for family vacation. You can combine cruise and pre-cruise or post-cruise visit of Disneyworld or Universal Studio.

At the same time, sailings from Port Canaveral historically are more affordable compare to Port Everglades. I guess, this tradition will continue and guests will enjoy Oasis class ship experience at more affordable price.

Another fact I have to mention that Port Canaveral has a brand new terminal. It is big enough to accommodate Oasis class ship. First phase for this project is ready and we arrived to a new terminal last February after cruise on Freedom of the Seas. The whole complex will be ready in October this year.

I received a lot of calls about when deployment is opened for 2016 – 2017 season.

Here is a tentative schedule:
